It burns

We had Holodomor in 1932-1933, when Soviet Union killed millions of Ukrainians by confiscating even the seed set aside for planting and making people die of starving. But we had survived and revived our fields of wheat. The widespread destruction of Ukraine’s wheat fields has added new urgency to a food crisis caused by the war in 2022. It burns, it hurts, but we will win and grow our wheat again. As always.

This painting was presented at charity exhibitions in Lisbon and Berlin. 25% of funds raised were donated to “Missing Children Search Service Magnolia” (Ukraine).
