“Flamekeeper”

2026

Oil on linen

80*65 cm

We are not born knowing what a “normal adult” is supposed to be.

We learn it.

From our parents.

From school.

From society.

From everything that teaches us what is acceptable, useful, successful, and “right.”

And eventually, we become so good at being the adults we were taught to be that we forget to ask ourselves whether this is actually the life we want.

We spend years to become “normal adult”.

And then one day we wonder why we don’t feel alive anymore.

Maybe the part of you that wants to play, create, explore, laugh at stupid things and get excited for no particular reason isn’t something you were supposed to outgrow.

Maybe that’s the part you were supposed to protect.

Because we’re all going to die eventually.

And suddenly, spending your one life doing only what is useful doesn’t sound quite as sensible.

Memento mori. Memento vivere.

Remember that you will die.

And remember to live before you do.

Keep your inner flame alive!
